The holidays may have come and gone, but that does not mean the giving season is over. B2B events are a unique way to contribute to a great cause. Here are a few ways to include a giving element into your next marketing event.
1. Have a nonprofit partner
There are so many amazing non-profits out there that it can be hard to determine what cause your organization should partner with. One thing to consider is supporting a cause that aligns with your business. For example, if your company is a leader in the IT space, you might partner with a STEM nonprofit or a youth educational program.
Once you finalize your partnership, it is important to make sure your attendees know about your collaboration. You can do this by featuring your nonprofit partner on your website, in your outreach emails, and of course, at your event. Whether it's having a designated booth or adding a member of their team to your agenda (or both!), give them a platform to share what the organization does and how your attendees can contribute.
2. Make it easy to donate
Your guests will want to know how they can donate, so make it simple. Include an easy to find donate call to action on your event website. You can also include donation forms in your handouts and as part of your event swag. Events that do prize drawings can give winners the option to donate the value of the prize instead. As always, a company match from your organization is a great way to show your organization’s support of your nonprofit partner and encourage others to do the same.
3. Turn networking into a group activity
Turn your regular cocktail hour into something that contributes to a great cause while creating an experience your attendees are unlikely to forget. A group activity like bike building or creating care packages for schools or members of the military (you can find additional great ideas here) is way for your attendees to let their guard down, get to know one another, and be a part of a activity that makes a difference.
