A More Modern OpenReel Experience
We're continuing our platform redesign to create a more modern, intuitive, and scalable experience. We've made significant updates to several key areas to help you navigate the platform and access the tools you need more easily.
Library Refreshed
Finding and managing your content is now easier with an updated three-column Library layout. Larger content tiles provide a cleaner browsing experience, helping you quickly locate the videos and assets you need.
Navigation Simplified
We've streamlined platform navigation to make frequently used tools easier to find.
- Account settings and account switching are now accessible from your avatar.
- The accessibility button is conveniently located in the sidebar.
- Help resources are consolidated behind one easy-to-find help button.
- Support chat remains accessible in the bottom-right corner.
Project Page Redesigned
Your projects now have a more streamlined layout, with Sessions, Scripts, Creator, and Team Members accessible directly from the sidebar.
We've also improved how you work with individual clips. Instead of opening in a small pop-up window, clips now have their own dedicated page, making important actions easier to see and access at a glance.
The result? A cleaner workspace that helps you spend less time navigating and more time creating.
🤳 Record and Submit Multiple UGC Clips in One Session
Creating authentic user-generated content just got better.
Following our UGC experience redesign, you can once again record and submit as many clips as you need within a single session.
This flexibility is available across all three session types:
- Simple: Capture content without a script or structured prompts.
- Script: Follow a provided script while recording your content.
- Questions: Respond to guided questions to capture authentic feedback and perspectives.
Whether you're gathering customer testimonials, capturing multiple product reactions, or collecting a series of short-form videos, you can keep recording without starting a new session for every clip.
More flexibility means a smoother recording experience and fewer interruptions to your creative process.
📄 Present Multiple PDFs in Studio
Need to share more than one presentation during a recording session? Now you can.
OpenReel Studio supports multiple file uploads, allowing you to upload several PDF documents and present them one after another.
Whether you're switching between your own presentations or handing off to another presenter, you can move between documents without disrupting the flow of your session.
It's a simple enhancement that makes presentations, interviews, and collaborative recording sessions easier to manage.
Start Creator Edits Directly From Your Project
Editing your video content just became more convenient.
You can now start a Creator edit directly from an existing project page. There's no need to create a separate project using a template before you begin.
Simply open your project, add a new edit, and choose how you'd like to get started:
- Start with a blank canvas: Build your edit from scratch.
- Use a template: Select one of your existing templates to get started faster.
By bringing Creator editing directly into your project workflow, you can keep your content and editing activities more organized while reducing unnecessary steps.
🛎️ Stay in the Loop With In-App Notifications
In-app notifications make it easier to keep up with important platform updates.
A new bell icon in the sidebar gives you access to relevant updates without having to leave the OpenReel platform.
You can also manage your notification preferences directly from Settings, giving you more control over the updates you receive.
It's another way we're making it easier to stay informed and focused on your work.
Replace Uploaded Videos Efficiently
Already shared a video with customers, prospects, or your audience, but need to update the content?
Now you can replace an uploaded video directly within the OpenReel Library without having to distribute new links.
When you replace an uploaded video:
- Existing share links remain unchanged.
- Embed codes continue working as expected.
- Analytics stay intact.
- Only the video content is updated.
This is especially helpful when you need to refresh a video that's already embedded on your website or shared across marketing channels.
One important note: This functionality currently applies to uploaded videos only.
You can update your content while keeping the connections, distribution, and performance history associated with your original video.
